A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, DESIGfVATING CERTAIN iIBRARY
EMPLOYEES AS CODE INSPECiORS AN�
ENFORCEMEI�T OFFICERS FOR PllRPOSES OF
ENFORCIPJG PINELLAS COUNTY ORDINAIVCE NO.
96-52; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, recent legislative amendments to the provisions of Florida
Statutes Chapter 257 have allowed the release of previously confidential library
recards for the purpose of recovering overdue materials and have authorized
local governmenis to provide by ordinance that failure to return public library
m�terials by their due date is a non-criminal infractio�; and
WHEREAS, Pinellas Couniy 'has enacted an ordinance of countyuvide
applicability, �rdinance Rlo. 96-52, which provides that certain action� relating to
1�brary materials are misdemeanors punishable by fine or imprisonment, and for
purposes of enforcemeni of said Ordinance within the Cifiy of Clearwater it is
necessady fo designate certain library employees as code inspectors and
enforcement oificers pursuant to Florida statuQes Seciion 162.21; now, fiherefore,
