97-40RESOLU'fTTON NO. 97-40 A RESOLUTION OF TF� CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, ASSESSING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN CARTER, HONAKER & BARE'S LINCOLN PLACE ADDITION TO CLEARWATER, FLORIDA., HAVIl�G A POST OFFICE ADDRESS OF 1403 ROOSEVELT AVENUE, CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AS DESCRIBED MORE PARTICULARLY I-YEREIN, IN THE AMOIJNT OF $8,326.00 FOR THE COSTS OF DEMOLITION INCURRED IN REMOVII�IG A DANGEROUS STRUCTURE, V`IITHOUT TI� CONSENT OF OWNER. WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 47 of the Glearwater Code of Ordinances and the Standard Building Code, the Building O�cial deternuned that certain real property described herein and the building sitraated thereon were unsafe, unsanitary, unfit for human habitation, and dangerous and detrimental to the health, safety, and general welfare of the community, and did not properly comply with the requirements of said Code, and found that an emergency existed which, in his opinion, involved danger to human life and health, and ordered the demolition of the building; and WHEREA5, the City of Clearwater has caused the demolition of the building, and the cost of such work should�now be assessed as a lien on behalf of the City of Clearwater against the property; now, therefore, BE PI' ItESOLVED BY THE CITY COMNIISSION OF T'i3E CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: 5ection 1. The �uilding �'icial having ordered the demolition of the building situated on the following described property: Lots 10 and 11, Block 4, of CARTER, HONAKER & BA,RE'S LINCOLN PLACE ADDITI�N �'O CLEARWATER, FLG�.lUA, as shown on records of County of Pinellas, at office of Clerk of Circuit Court for said County and State, and in Plat Book I°�urnb�r 3, on page 27. (Parcel Number 10/29l15/51948/004lO100). Owwner of record: l��ary L. Rhodes 1403 i�or,s�velt Avenue Cl�arwat�r, TL 34615-2556 � Resolution No. 97 - 40 � �. �: 0 and the City of Clearwater having now completed said work, the City Commission does hereby assess and charge a lien on behalf of the City of Clearwater against the property for the necessary costs incuned as follows: TOTAL DEMOLTTION COSTS $8,326.00 (See Attachment °A") Section 2. As soon as practicable, a Cerkificate of Indebtedness against the property for the amount of assessment shall be prepared, which certificate shall constitute a lien prior to all other liens except the lien for taxes. Said ceriificate, when issued, shall be payable to the City with interest at a rate of eight perc�nt (8%) per annum. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to prepare a Notice of Lien in the amount of the assessment against said property, and to record the same in the Public Records of Pinellas County, Florida.
