WHER�A�, the 6'inellas Counfiy M�tropoiitan Planning Organization
(IVIPO) has in the past designated a week in May to promoie people going to
work �sing such al�ernative modes of transportation as vanpooling, c�rpooling,
buses, bicycling or wa�king; and
WHEREAS, the MPO intends to conduct that prograrr� this year for the
week of May 12 with the cooperatiora of not o�6y iran�portation agencies but also
municipalities and the Board of County Commissioner�; and
iIVH�REAS, the
(S.O.V.) travel; and
WHEREAS, #he Bay Area Commuter Service� in �ooperafion wiih the St.
Pe��rsburg Transpo�iation 'Management Initiative and 4he Gaieweay
'ie��sportation M�nagement Initiative propose to be the lead agencis� for ihe
�ciivitie� of a program entitled "Hang Up Your {<eys. .. f3on't �e a S:p.V.;" a�d
WHEREAS, the 8icycle Advisory Commifitee has previous0� cdnducted
activiiies relating to bike to work in that same time and has cnncurred with this
proposal; now, therefore,

THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLOFtIDA:
SPCtion �,, The Cify of Clearwater her�by recognizes the NlPO's "Hang
Up Your Keys. .." program to reduce single occupant vehicl� tr�ael for the week
of May 12 and supports the activities thaf are proposed.
This resolution shall take effect imm�dia4e#y upan adoption.
