ELORIDA, ENCOURAGING TJF� JOINT USE OF EXISTING
TELEC�I��ILJNICATIONS TOWERS AND STRUCTURES AS AN ALTERNATIVE

NEW TOVTERS; PROVII�ING AN EFF�CTIVE DATE.
�VFIEREEiS, the City of Ciearwvater is experiea�c'sn� increasing requests for buiiding
pernuts for the construction of new telecomanunication towers; and
WH�EREAS, it is in the intzrest oithe City to foster a good visual environment and
to enhance the appeal o£ the City as a desirable �lace in which to live, conduct business,
atid visit; and
�JVHER�AS, it is fn the lnteeest of the �ity to ens�a�e that structures are compatible
in the �rea in which they �re located or glanned; and
WI�ItEAS, towers are often viewed as incongruent elements in the setting in
which t�hey are Io�ated due to their projection and vesibility above other siructures; and
V6�I�REAS, it is in the interest of the City to avoid the proliferation of towers; and
WF�EI�.EAS, existing towers or structures can sometimes be used as an alternative
to new tower �onstruction.

TF3E CIT�.' OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The �ity of Clearwater $ereby encourages the joint use of existing
telecommunication towers and structures as an alternative to new tower construction, and
encourages the joinY use oinew towers.
Seation 2. This resolution shall take ef�'ect irr►mediately upon adoption.
