A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FROM MARCH 16, 1995 TO JUNE 15,
1995, FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE EQUITY STUDY
COMMISSION TO PRESENT A WRITTEN REPORT TO THE CITY
COMMISSION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 94 -11 on June 2, 1994
which established the Equity Study Commission to study the City of Clearwater's
occupational license tax classification system and rate structure;
WHEREAS, Section 2, Subsection (7) of Resolution No. 94 -11, reads, "Not later
than January 1, 1995, Study Commission shall present to the City Commission a written
report embodying a classification system and an occupational license tax rate schedule
for consideration by the City Commission';
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 94 -108 on December
1, 1994 which extended the January 1, 1995 deadline established in Resolution No. 94-
11 to March 16, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Occupational License Equity Study Commission has determined
the need for additional time for the report, and recommends the deadline be extended
to June 15, 1995; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby recognizes the need by the Occupational
License Equity Study Commission for additional time to prepare a written report
embodying a classification system and an occupational license tax rate schedule for
consideration by the City Commission, as set forth in Resolution No. 94 -11.
Section 2. The City of Clearwater hereby approves the Occupational License
Equity Study Commission's recommendation to extend the deadline to June 15, 1995 to
present to the City Commission the report on the occupational license tax structure.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March 1995.
