A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CURRENT LEGISLATION
WHICH DEFINES THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD OF
THE PINELLAS SUNCOAST TRANSIT AUTHORITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of St. Petersburg has proposed a local bill adding a member of the
City Commission from St. Petersburg to the Board of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of St. Petersburg currently has two (2) appointed representatives
on the Board of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission believes that the current membership of the Pinellas
Suncoast Transit Authority Board contains appropriate geographic membership.
Section 2. The City Commission opposes the local bill presented to the Pinellas County
Legislative Delegation on November 15, 1994, by the City of St. Petersburg.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to notify the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation
and the City of St. Petersburg that the City of Clearwater is opposed to the proposed local bill
creating an additional Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Board member from the City of
St. Petersburg.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
