AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO THE BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS; AMENDING SECTION 47.051, ADOPTION AND
EIVF®I + EMENT, TO AD10PT THE 1997 EDITION OF THE
STANDARD BUILDING CODE AND STANDARD MECHANICAL
CODE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 47.051(1)(a), Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:
Sec.47.051. Ado f n and enforcement.
(1) There shall be enforced within the city, by the building official, the following
standard or national codes, which are adapted by reference:
(a) Standard Codes, published by the Southern Building Code,
Congress International, Inc.:
1. Standard Building Code, 1997 edition; including but not limited to chap-
39, the Coasllal Construction Code; chapter 40, the County Wide Foal Code; and
Appendix C.
2. Standard Plumbing :ode, 1994 edition, with Appendixes B, C,'G, 1, and
J.
3> Standard Mechanical Code, 19971997 edition.
Note: All references to the Standard Gas Code-in the Standard Building, Plumbing, or
Mechanical Code are to be interpreted as reference to INFFA 54 or iNFFA 58.
Section 2 Thies ordinance shall take effect on October 1, 1998.
