AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,' FLORIDA',
DECLARING THE LAGS RATE TO BE LEVIED FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1995, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
1999, FOR OPFR)- TION PURPOSES INCLUDING PENSIC� ,S AND DEBT
SERVICE, ANTE) ROAD MA NTENANCE FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
EXPENDITURES AT 5.1158 MILLS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE LEVY OF _ .1.158 MILLS CONSTITUTES A 3.13% INCREASE OVER
THE ROLLED BA(.*1X RATE OF 4.9607 MILLS.
VMEREAS, thy: 'estimated revenue to be received by the City for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 1:998, and ending September 30, 1999, from ad valorem taxes ` is
$21,801,730; and
WHEREAS, 'based upon the ,taxable value provided by the Pinellas County Property
Appraiser, 5.1158 mills are, necessary to generate $222,801,730; now, therefore,

CLEARWATER, FLO A:
Section 1. It is hereby determined that a'tax of 5.1158 mills against the non-exempt :real
and personal propl, y -within the City is nee essary to raise e sues to be appropr�atect for
operation purposes, including pensions and debt service, road capital improvement projects, for
the fiscal year beginning; October 1, 1998,
Section 2. The levy of 5.1158 mills constitutes a 3.13% increase from the rolled back
rate.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect October 1, 1998.
