The variance was subject to the condition that adequate landscaping be installed to provide a solid and continuous visual screen for the fence. As of the date of this letter this condition has not been met. It is the opinion of staff that with proper maintenance, adequate water, fertilizer, and pruning that a solid and continuous visual screen shall be achieved by May 2000. At that time if a solid and continuous visual screen is not achieved the variance will be subject to a re- evaluation. At this time staff recommends filling in the current gaps in the hedge with additional shrubs, mulching to conserve moisture, irrigating on a regular basis, and fertilizing. This suggested corrective action should be taken as soon as possible to achieve the desired result. If City staff can assist you in any way please contact Scott Kurleman at 727- 562- 4746.
