NOTE:
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. The work cosists of the complete plant material installation as
shown on the drawings and as herein specified. This work shall
include, but not limited to, the supplying of all plant material
specified, the furnishings of all labor. equipment, appliances and
connection with landscape installotion as shown on this plan.
Further, the work shall include the maintenance of all plants and
planting areas until final acceptance by the owner, and the
fullfilling of all guarantee provisions as herein specified.
2. The contractor shall fully oquaint himself with the related
paving, site grading, water supply, electrricaal supply, and other
utilities to proclude any misunderstanding and to facilitate a
trouble free installation, Call Candy 1 -800- 282 -8881 prior to any
construction for utility coordination.
3. The contractor is resonsible for repairing on domnyes to
existing facilities that may occur as o result of work done by
the contractor called for in this contract. The work performed
under this contract will interface with other work being
performed by other controctors, it will be necessary for the
contractor to coordinate and schedule activities, where
necessary, with othercontractors and their subcontractors.
4. No substitutes shall be made without written permission of
Landscape Architect.
5. in the event of the variation between the plant list and the
actual number of plants shown on the plan, the plans sholl
control.
6. Plant materials will be inspected at the job. When inspection work
doeA not comply with the requirements. replace rejected work
and :ontinue specified maintenance until re— inspected and found
to b acceptable. Remove rejected plants and material from the
plant site and replace within 48 hours.
7. All n. s °as and equipment shall be installed in a neat and
workr•;ir,like manner. The owner or his architect reserves the
right to direct the removal and replacement of ony items which
in his opinitn, do not present and orderly and resonabty neat or
workmanlike appearance, provided such items can be property
installed in such oerderty way by the usual methods of such work.
S. All plant materials shall be grade Florida No.t or better as
outlined under grades and standards for nursery plants, parts 1
one 11, State Plont: Board of Florida, shall conform to ASN
st ndords for nursery stock (ASNI 260.1- 1980).
9. All )lonting beds sholl be mulched with 2" of 1009 organic
fib ous —tyke grade 'B' or better.
10. All es 7' (D larger shall be stoked and guyed with vertical 2 "4'
Pint `.akes 3" diameter posts as shown in details. No deviotions
unles oppr�d in writing.
11. Apply h,pCRonstor G" with a property calibrated granular
opplico. ;rttpt� will apply the granules uniformly after initial
piontings I beem completed. Apply at a rote of 31 Ibs /1000 sq.
ft. of plant too specified. Do not apply pre— emergent chemical
on leaves.
12. Planting soil for all plant materials sholl consist of two (2) parts
of topsoil with one (1) part moss and two pounds fertilizer
per cubic yord, well mixed.
13. Fertilizer shall be 16 -4-4, quick release, water soluble fertilizer
and shall conform to the opplicabte State of Florida fertilizer laws.
14. All plant materials shall be watered by the contractor theroughly
when planted and during the planting time period up to final acceptance.
15. Gross shall be St. Augustine and shall be well matted with gross roots,
the sod shall betaken up in rectangles preferably 12 "x14" and shall be
a minimum of 2" in thickness, and shall be Live, fresh and unin'ured at
the time of planting. R shall be reasonably free of weed and o er '
ggrosses and shall have o soil mot of sufficient thickness ushering firmly
fo the roots to withstand all necessary handling. The sod shall be shaded
and kept moist until it is planted. dumping from vehicles will not be permitted.
Damaged sod will be rejected. R%onting shall be done within 48 hours
after time of harvesting or sod shall be kept damp until planted.
16. Sodding Schedule:
(1) Soft spots and inequalities in grade shall be corrected
before starting sod work.
�2 Ground shall be sufficiently moist prior to toying of sod.
3) Loy sod withoutvolds, Tamp or roll. Sod shall be
thoroughly watered. The surfaces shall be true to finished
grade lines, even and firm at all points.
(4) Place sod with staggered joints closely butted, tamped or
rolled to on even surface to the required finished grade.

place sod in rows at right angles to slope.
17. The contractor shall notify the Landscape Architect of any
conflict or discrepancy in plans prior to performing any work
in the affected area.
18. Contractor shall clean up and remove from the premises all
surplus and discarded materials and rubbish from his construction.
19. All shrubs and sod shall W guaranteed for ninety (90) days after
final acceptance by Owner. All trees shall be guaranteed for one (1)
year after final acceptance by Owner.
20. Upon final notice of final inapecton acc ptanco the Owner }vill
assume maintenance and the guorontee warranEy period begins.
