Box 16531 Tampa, FL 33687 Re: Joe's Crab Shack, Tree Removal Permit #1879 Dear Mr. Crawley: This letter is in response to our phone conversation of October 15, 1997 regarding landscaping at the subject site. The City has no objection to the replacement of six proposed palm trees with six 3" shade trees and upgrading three red maple trees from 2" to 3 ". You do not need to revise the approved landscape plan, as this change will be recorded as an as-built change. This will affect the final tree deficit as follows: Removal of six palms = 4" Addition of six shade trees @ 3" = 18" Upgrade three red maple trees = 3" Remaining deficit =123" - 17" = 106" This deficit must be satisfied by payment to the City Tree Bank at a rate of $42.00 /inch, or $4452.00. A check for the above amount, made payable to the City of Clearwater,. must be submitted prior to issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for this site. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me at 562 -4743. Sincerely: Michael D. Quillen, P.E. As the allowable 25% removal has already been used for this site, all inches removed must be replaced on an inch for inch basis. Total inches removed = 231" Replacement inches per approved plan: 16 trees @ 4" = 64" 12 trees @ 2" = 24" 31 palms @ 2 "/3 palms = 20" Total replacement inches = 108" (Please note that the above palm tree credit is additional credit not reflected on your approved plan). Remaining deficit = 231" - 108" = 123" This deficit must be satisfied by payment to the City Tree Bank at a rate of $42.00 /inch, or $5166.00. A check for the above amount, made payable to the City of Clearwater, must be submitted prior to issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for this site. A pre - construction site inspection has revealed ten camphor trees which have severely declined due to the previous construction activities and should be removed. These are in addition to the three dead trees shown on your plans of June 11, 1997. Consequently the total tree removals are as follows: Trees to be removed for new construction- 8 = 105" Trees to be removed due to decline from previous construction- 13 = 126" Total inches removed = 231 ". As the allowable 25% removal has already been used for this site, the current tree deficit is 231" less 21 landscape trees at 3.5" = 231 " -74" = 157 ". This deficit must be satisfied by planting additional inches on -site or payment to the City Tree Bank at the rate of $42.00 /inch. A Certificate of Occupancy can not be issued until this deficit is satisfied. The Tree Removal Permit has been issued to the general contractor reflecting the above removals, however the 219 replacement inches shown on the permit is incorrect and the above replacement figures are accurate.
