Sec. 1.12. CenerorI penalty; enforceownt of civil infractions; cpntinuing
vfiolaiJons.
Except for the ordinances set fore in chapter 6 , article III of
chapter 20, and article 1 of. chapter 21 , the ordinances contained in this Code
may be enforced; i r,I accordance with the following procedures
b Prior 1.o' issuing a citation, the code enforcement officier shall
provide notice to the person that the person has committed a violation of a city
ordinance and shah establish a reasorable time period, not to exceeds O days$
within which ;the, person must correct the violation. If, upon ipersonal
investigation, th,e code enforcement officer finds that the person has not
corrected the violation within the time period, the code enforcement of`Ificer may
issue a citation to the person who has 'committed the violation. The code
enforcement officer does not have to provide the person with a reasoni' ble time
period to 'correct !the violation prior to issuing a citation and may, imj�ediately
issue a vitat on if a repeat violation is found or if the code enforcement
officer has reasons Ito believe that the 'violation presents a serious threat to the
public health, safe=ty, , or welfare, or if the violation is irreparable or
irreversible.
Section 2. 1his 'ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
