ORDINANCE NO. 5652-94
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELA]FING TO APPOINTED AUTHORITIES, BOARDS, COMMITTEES,
AMENDING SECTION'. 2.066, CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO_PROVIDE
THAT THE CITY MANAGER MAY REMOVE A BOARD MEMBER FOR'
CESSIVE ABSENCES, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE I,T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEAR ?ATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1.J Section 2.066, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read:

Sec. 2.065. Attondance by members at meetings.
(I.) Excelat: as may otherwise be provided by law, a member of any beard may
be removed by they city manager for excessive absences.
"Excessive absences" shall mean:
(a) For, ja board which meets monthly on a regular basis; more than f ur
absences, excused or, unexcused, in any consecutive 12,-month period.
(b) For,a board which meets less often than monthly on a regular, basis,
more than thr;eelabsences, excused or unexcused, in any consecutive 12-month
period.
('c) For ,! board which meets more often than monthly on a regular basis,
more than five absences, excused or unexcused, ' in any consecutive 12-month
period.
2 The staff liaison for each board shall be requ i red to keep attendance
records:' and to submit monthly reports to the city clerk setting forth both the
excused and unexcL�sed absences of each member of the board. The .ci'ty clerk will
notify the ciity 111�na�er � h� and request direction regarding the
removal' of any board member having a record of excessive absences.
' S'ection?2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
