I acknowledge receipt of an executed copy of that
certain contract between you and me covering the
purchase of certain property ~n Pinellas Groves by
me, which is dated July 16, 1956, and was accepted
by you on July 23, 1950. !
As I indicated to the City Commission verbally on
July 23, 1956, I hereby consent to the City deposit-
ing in its General Fund and using for City purposes
the $8,000 deposit which I have made under this con-
tract.
In doing this, of course I do not relieve the City of
the responsibility of returning a sum of $8,000 to me
in the event the same should be necessary under the
terms of the contract.

The above transaction was closed on November
26, 1956, with the promissory note being
dated November 20th, since that was the date
the seller was to pay the balance due under
the contract.
I am attaching for the Clerk and the Treasurer,
a copy of a closing statement indicating the
details of the closing. I am attaching for
the Clerk the original deed of conveyance, the
original promissory note and the original mort-
gage. The Clerk should secure a ~itness to the
deed and have it acknowledged and then should
obtain the necessary fees to record the mort-
gage and deed and place revenue stamps on the
note, from the Treasurer. He should then re-
cord the deed and mortgage and deliver the promis
sory note with revenue stamps affixed, to the
Treasurer.
I am attaching with the copy of this memo for
the Treasurer, the check of J. Frank Hancock,
Jr. to the City in the sum of $11,911.75, that
being the balance due per the closing statement.

Property Purchase and Sale - J. Frank Hancock, Jr.

In accordance with the provlslons of Resolution 58-20,
adopted February 24, 1958, the City received the amounts
due it on the Hancock note and mortgage from the Bank
of Clearwater on Al'ril"le,1958. At that time, the City
Treasurer brought with him the original note and mortgage
and at the office of th~ Bank's President an original of
the mortgage extension agreement, an assignment of the
mortgage to the Bank, and an assignment of the promissory
note, together with the abstract covering this property,
were all delivered to the Bank.
In return, the City received a receipt for the abstract,
and the original mortgage and a duplicate of a deposit
slip indicating that on that date the sum of $41,177.78
was deposited to the credit of the City. This represents
the principa~ of $40,000.00 due, plus interest in the sum
of $1,777.78 being the amount due as provided in the note
from July 20, 1957 through April 15, 1958, as computed
by the City Treasurer.
I am enclosing for the City's file a duplicate original
of the mortgage extension agreement and conformed copies
of the assignment of mortgage and assignment of promissory
note. The Bank will record its copy of the mortgage ex-
tension agreement and the assignment of mortgage. I have
in my file a duplicate receipt for the abstract and original
mortgage.
