Jackson, Chandler C12705 SE River Road Apt 314 South Portland, Oregon 97222 February 8, 1993 City Clerk City of Clearwater, Florida 33515 Dear Sir: I am trying to locate a death certificate for my grandfather, George Edwin Jackson. I have a newspaper clipping which says that he died in Clearwater on march 15, 1910. I have written to the State of Florida and they reported that there is no registration of his death anytime during 1910. Reference books state that Florida State records are not complete before 1917. Do you have a record of his death? Can you supply me with a copy of it? How much is the charge for this service? If you do not have this record, where might it be found? I know that Pinellas County did not exist in 1910. Thank you for any help that you might be able to give me. Yours truly, Feb. 11, 1993 C Dear Mr. Jackson, Chandler C. J cks n In 1910, what is now Pinellas County was considered to be Hillsborough County. I checked with Hillsborough Clerk of the Circuit Court and was told that any records in existence from 1910 would be available through the State of Florida, Death Records, P. O. Box 210, Jacksonville, FL 32231. They recommend that you contact them by mail stating your request and enclose a prepaid charge of $5.00 and either a certified copy of the original death certificate or a letter stating officially that no record was found will be sent to you within 10 days. There is a $4.00/each charge for any additional certified copies. I hope this will be helpful to you. Sincerely, City Clerk Department Camille Motley, Central RecoYc s
