Block 12, Lot 22, Space 2 in the Clearwater Municipal Cemetery.
Please take this affidavit as your authority to inter the remains of Pas uale V
Paoletti who is the brother of Virginia M Morelli, in Block 12, Lot 22, Space 2.
1, further agree to release, indemnify and hold the City of Clearwater harmless
from liability in the event of any claim arising from the use of the above describer)
property for the interment of Pasquale V Paolettl.

Cemetery Issue
4/2/02
Approximately two weeks ago we received a request to stake a burial space for
Pasquale Paoletti. We were told to place him in a space owned by his sister,
Virginia Morelli (affidavit attached granting permission for the interment). We
searched cemetery records for spaces owned by Morelli and came up with
attached Cemetery Search Names and Notes Request showing that Blk 12, Lot
22, Spaces 1 and 2 were owned by Virginia Morelli (we have a deed indicating
that she owns these two spaces). We informed the funeral home that Pasquale
would be buried in Bik 12, Lot 22, Space 2.
When the vault company hired by the funeral director opened up Blk 12, Lot 22,
Space 2 they came upon a skull and a casket handle. They immediately filled
the space back in. We were then told that this was not where Pasquale was to
be buried. We then searched under his last name and found nothing but in
further research we found that when his wife's information was input in the
computer they spelled her last name Poaletti. We have corrected this.
Pasquale Paoletti was buried next to his wife in Blk 4, Lot 7, Space 14 which
already had a double headstone with both his and his wife's name on it (his wife
was buried in 1971).
Virginia Morelli contacted us a day or two after the burial of her brother and
asked us to resolve the issue of the remains found in the space belonging to her.
She stated that she wishes to be buried in that space when the time comes and
has no idea whose remains were found.
The basic issue is that these unknown remains must be relocated. We
considered the possibility that the casket of the individual buried in the space
next to this (Blk 12, Lot 22, Space 3) might have shifted. Carrie Carter was
buried in 1961. There is no headstone on her grave. When JoEllen from Parks
and Recreation probed Blk 12, Lot 22, Space 3 her probe does not hit anything
solid. I note in our cemetery book that Moss Funeral Home handled Carrie
Carter's burial. If they still have the records maybe they can tell us what type of
casket she had and if there was a vault. Glen Perry of Parks & Recreation does
not think it would have shifted that much.
Another possibility is that she may have been buried in the wrong space. The
last possibility is that someone is buried there that we have no record of.
The only vacant space the City has available is across the street in Block 14. We
need guidance as to how to proceed.
Virginia Morelli has contacted us again this week regarding this issue. We told
her we would get back to her in a week or so.
