RESOLUTION
No. 64 - 46

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
has been elected to represent the residents and taxpayers within the corporate
limits of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater has been
disturbed by reports in the newspapers and other media concerning a drastic
change in the County road policy; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater is fearful
that said reported changes in the County road policy may drastically affect
present and future planning in and about the City of Clearwater;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater respectfully
requests that the Board of County Commissioners continue its present policy
of constructing and maintaining certain County roads within the corporate
limits of the City of Clearwater and other cities in the County, and the said
Board of County Commissioners are hereby specifically requested not to
curtail the program in any way but to enlarge the same as the demands require
and the budget permits.
2. That the City of Clearwater respectfully requests the Board of
County Commissioners of Pinellas County to be ever mindful of the provisions
of the Florida law governing the collection and expenditure of road and
bridge funds.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Board
of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida.
