RESOLUTION
No. 62 - 117
HEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, recognizes tho value
and worth of organized Civil Defense; and
WHEREAS, an organized Civil Defense Program will greatly
benefit the well being, safety and public welfare of the citizens of the City
of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of continuing an
active Civil Defense Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY
ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida, by and through its City
Commission, does hereby repeal in its entirety Resolution No. 62 - 63,
previously passed and adopted by it on the 21st day of May, 1962.
2. That the City of Clearwater, Florida, by and through its City
Commission does hereby appoint The City Manager of the City of Clearwater,
as Director of Civil Defense for the City of Clearwater, Florida, and charges
said appointee with the responsibility of conducting an active Civil Defense

Program for the City of Clearwater, Florida.
3. Said Director of Civil Defense is authorized to appoint a
coordinator and any other personnel he deems necessary, in his discretion,
to assist and facilitate in carrying out his duties and authority as Director of
Civil Defense of the City of Clearwater, Florida.
4. Incidental therewith, said Director of Civil Defense is hereby
authorized to delegate any authority vested in him pursuant to his office as
Director of Civil Defense of the City of Clearwater, Florida.
5. Said appointment is to be for an indefinite period, terminable at
the discretion of the City Commission, or by duly accepted resignation of
the appointee.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of Octobe , A. D. 1962.
