Jr Y.'r?':•.' ='. WHEREAS, the State Road Department and the State Road Board
have completed the improvement and widening of Gulf to Say Boulevard
(State Road 60) between Court Street and U. S. 19 within the City limits
of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS in response to a petition signed b eighty-five 85
Gulf to Bay business property owners requesting the maximum speed be
reduced to 30 miles per hour, the City Commission of the City of
cttal?pw:i ', •'i::;;.< F•. Clearwater passed a Resolution on November 6, 1961, requesting the
State Road Department and the State Road Board to consider the request for
reducing the maximum speed on State Road 60, which reduction was not
considered feasible at that time; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater now

feels that the maximum speed on said State Road 60 should be 35 miles
per hour in keeping with the demands of safety and feels that the State
Road Department should conduct a new traffic survey, if it deems it

NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER. FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULAPLLY ASSEMBLER AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board
consider the request of the City Commission of the City of Clearwater
that the maximum speed of 45 miles per hour on Gulf to Bay Boulevard
(State Road 60) be reduced to 35 miles per hour or to such speed as the
State Road Department seems best in keeping with this request and the
demands of safety.
2. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board are
hereby respectfully requested to conduct, if they deem it necessary, a new
traffic count and traffic survey on Gulf to Bay Boulevard to help them in
making a proper decision.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished the State
Road Department as well as the State Road Board.
