RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE AMERICAN RAILWAY
EXPRESS AGENCY TO CONTINUE ITS PRESENT
FACILITIES IN CLEARWATER, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the American Railway Express Company and/or its
successors, through one of its agents, has exprossed the desire of closing
its facilities in downtown Clearwater and consolidating them in a location

presumably to be in or near St. Petersburg, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater recognizes
that the services furnished by the American Railway Express to the citizenry
and merchants of the City of Clearwater is invaluable,
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY
ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS;

1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, duly
elected and authorized representatives of the people of the City of Clear-
water, respectfully request the American Railway Express Company and/or
its successors to continue the operation of the present facility in the City
of Clearwater recognizing its full value to the community.

2. That the removal of said facility from the City of Clearwater
would be a backward stop In the growth of this community and would be a
hardship upon the citizenry of the City of Clearwater and the merchants of
this growing community.
3. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby calls
upon the merchants and private citizens of the City of Clearwater to register
their protests with the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Florida,
requesting that the American Railway Express Company and/or its successors
be compellad to continue the operation of its present facility in downtown
Clearwater.
