WHEREAS, the State Road Department and the State Road Board

have completed the improving and widening of Gulf to Bay Boulevard •.

(SR 60) between Highland Avenue and US 19 within the City limits of the
City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, it is apparent that traffic has increased considerably >.4;

on said roadway since the completion of all improvements; and o ,

WHEREAS, by reason of the tremendous growth of the City of ;??` -

Clearwater there are many hundreds of business establishments fronting ?•

said road between said intersections and the same may now be considered t

a major business district; and •?:_,.?,,?'
WHEREAS, pedestrian traffic will require the use of sidewalks
on both sides of said road in order to protect the safety of such persons,
but it has been noted that the State Road Board has installed sidewalks
on only the South side of said roadway; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the need of installa-
tion of sidewalks on the North side of said State Road and will convey to
the State Road Department for right of way purposes all necessary right
of way for installation of a sidewalk on the North side thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED AS
FOLLOWS-
1. That the State Road Department and the State Road Board
be requested to investigate the matters and things set forth in this
Resolution and cause to be constructed a sidewalk on the North side
of Gulf to Bay Boulevard.
