RESOLUTION
No. 61 - 31
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE DISTINGUISUM
SERVICE OF TOM WALKER, TO THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, has established an
appropriate medal to be awarded by it to persons who have rendaved
outstanding service to the City{ and
WHEREAS, Tom Walker has rendered outstanding public service
to the City by serving as General Chairman of the 1961 Fun 'N Sun Festival,
which Festival is now recognised as one of the outstanding City festivals
held in the State of Floridan and
WHEREAS, it is desired to recognise the outstanding public
service end unselfish contribution of his time and energy to the planning
and promotion of the 1961 Fun IN Sun Festival by authorising the award
to him cd the City of Clearwater medals
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOW&
1. That the City of Clearwater. Florida, officially recognisss
and expresses its appreciation to Tom Walker for his outstanding public
service to the City of Clearwater as General Chaisrmsn of the 1961 Fun
ON Sun Festival, which has brought pleasure and entertainment and
provided invaluable publicity for the City of Clearwater, its citisens
and visitors.
Z. That the City of Clearwater medal is hereby awarded to
Tom Walker for his services as aforesaid, and same shall be presented
to him publicly at the earliest opportunity.
3. That a duplicate original of this Resolution shall be delivered
to said Tom Walker.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 17 day of April, A. D. 1963.
