[ WHEREAS, by passage of Resolution No. 58-51 (b), adopted by
the' City Commission an Juno 30, 1958, a pny plan affecting City Employees 3:. 5

was adopted, to be effectiva with the first pay period after July 5, 1958; {
and,
WHEREAS by passage, of Resolution No. 59'-94: adopted by the
City Commission on October 5, 1959, a pay plan suPercedin8 the pay Flan
of 1958, was adopted, to be effective July 4, 1959 and a supplemental ff
pay plan to be effective October 9, 1959; and, I
WHEREAS, the rules for administering all said pay plans provide
for a base pay and for longevity pay as therein set out; and, - • ; K
WHEREAS, some question has arisen as to whether longevity pay
should be included in determining the prevailing wage or salary received by -? fr;'.f'. srf
a City employee as the same is used and defined in connection with the various
pension plans affecting City employees, and it is desired to indicate the in-
tention and position of the City in this regard; and,

WHEREAS. the City Commission passed Resolution No. 58-76,
which indicated the intention and position of the City to be that the prevailing
wage or salary of the employee should be the base pay of such City employee
and shout.d not include any longevity pay to which such employee should then
be entitled; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission, having given this matter much
thought and deliberation, is desirous of rescinding the action taken in City
Resolution No. 58-76;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ET THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That for the purpose of determining the prevailing wage or
salary of any City employee as the same is required or defined in the ad-
ministering of any pension plan or law affecting City employees, such pre-
vailing wage or salary, plus any longevity pay to which such employee shall
then be entitled or receiving, shall be the base pay of such City employee.
2. That this Resolution is adopted for the purpose of indicating
the intention of the City of Clearwater at this time and that Resolution No.
58-76 of the City of Clearwater is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this ZOth day of March, 1961.
