R E S O L U T I O N
No. 61-6
WHEREAS State Road 60 is a duly designated and Stato
maintained highway, a portion of which passes through the muni-
cipal limits of the City of Clearwater; and,
lrHEREAS, the widening and improving of said State
Highway, known within the limits of the City as Gulf to Bay
Boulevard, will increase the flow of traffic and thus cause
the present traffic signals at the intersections of Gulf to
Bay Boulevard, Highland Avenue and Court Street; Lake Drive
and Gulf to Bay Boulevard; Duncan Avenue and Gulf to Bay
Boulevard; Keene Road and Gulf to Bay Boulevard; Hercules
Avenue and Gulf to Bay Boulevard; Belcher Road and Gulf
to Bay Boulevard to be inadequate to handle this increased
flow of traffic; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clear-
water, Florida, feels that the State Road Department may be
willing to furnish the equipment and authorize the recommended
changes at said intersections; and,
WHEREAS, this action requires the consent and assistance
of the State Road Department of Florida;
NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEAWWATER FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEDRED AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the State Road Department of Florida is here-
by requested to authorize and furnish the equipment for-these
recommended changes at the intersections of Gulf to Bay Boulevard,
Highland Avenue and Court Street; Lake Drive and Gulf to Bay
Boulevard; Duncan Avenue and Gulf to Bay Boulevard; Keene Road
and Gulf to Bay Boulevard; Hercules Avenue and Gulf to Bay Boule-
vard; and Belcher Road and Gulf to Bay Boulevard within the limits
of the City of Clearwater, Florida.

2. That the City of Clearwater make the physical installation
of such changes under the specifications of the State Road Depart-
ment and provide for the maintenance of such traffic signals.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be furnished:
