11HEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida ob-
tained a permit from the U.S. Engineers, Jacksonville, Flor-
„i,=R ida authorizing the construction of a proposed bridge across
Little Pass between Sand Key and Clearwater Beach, same be-

ed the U.S. Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida, to extend said
permit and the same was accomplished on or before January 7,
1961; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has received an assign-
ment of said permit from the State Road Department pursuant to
t',tt letter addressed to the City Manager, dated December 19, 1960,

tures) with copy to Mr. A. L. McKnight, District Engineer, Jack-

IMEREAS, the City of f Clearwater has completed valida-
tion proceedings incident to the construction plans of J. E.

roads; said toll revenue bonds will not be sold until such access

der for the reasons set forth above and will therefore be re-
quired to obtain a further extension of said permit from the U.S.
Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida (File Number SAY.VK Bridges (993);
and
WHEREAS, there have been no material changes in the
criteria or circumstances surrounding or existing since the
date of the last extension of said permit, and the City of Clear-
water represents that the extension of said permit by the U.S.
Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida, is in the public interest and
should be granted without further conditions or changes as to
the construction plans on account of the great effort and ex-
pense which has been devoted by present and past Commissions in
bringing the project to its present state;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY

period of two (2) years commencing January 7, 196f1, with-
out change in requirements as to construction plans for
said proposed bridge across Little Pass between Sand Key
and Cl.earwatnr Beach.
..2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be
mailed immediately to the U.S. Engineers, Jacksonville, Flor-
ida, attention Mr. A. L. McKnight, District Engineer.
3. That City officials designated by the Mayor
be authorized to consult with the U.S. Engineers, Jackson-
ville, Florida, including necessary travel, and to take
such other and further steps as may be required to assure
that said permit be extended as hereinabove requested; that
expenses incident to any necessary travel of said officials
be underwritten by the abutting property owners to said ap-
proach roads and be repayable out of utlimate proceeds-of
said toll revenue bonds when sold.
4. This resolution shalltake effect immediately.
