RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE VISIT OF VICE
GOVERNOR KICHIZO KASAHARA OF NAGANO
JAPAN, AND AWARDING HIM THE CLEARWATER AEDAL
The City of Clearwater harp established an appro-
priate medal to be given by it to distinguished
visitors to the City; and
under the sponcorship of the "Sister City Program"
of the Governmental Affairs Institute of Washington,
D. C., Vice Governor Kichizo Kasahara of the Nagano
Prefecture, Nagano, Japan, visited the City of
Clearwater for a period of six days beginning April.
28, 1960, during which time he observed the opera-
tions of the government of the City; and
during his visit Vice Governor Kichizo Kasahara
indicated a keen interest in, and appreciation of
the operation of the City's various departments
and activities, and it is desired to recognize
his visit and the opportunity it afforded for a
closer understanding of mutual problems and re-
sponsibilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED'BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida, officially
recognizes and expresses its appreciation to Vice Governor
Kichizo Kasahara for his visit to this'City.
2. That the City of Clearwater medal is hereby
awarded to said Vice Governor Kichizo Kasahara in recognition of
his interest in this City, and its municipal government.
S. That copy of this Resolution, together with the
Clearwater medal shall be delivered to said Vice Governor Kichizo
Kasahara by the most appropriate means.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 2nd day of May, A.D., 1960.
