RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING T11E DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
OF CLEVEL,AUD INSCO, JR., TO THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COP61ISSION OF ?11E CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSa7BLED, AS
FOLLOWS:

PASSED AND ADOPTED,

WEREAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida has established
an appropriate medal to be awarded by it to persons who have
rendered outstanding service to the City; and
WHEREAS, Cleveland Insco, Jr. has rendered outstanding
public service to the City by originating, promoting and de-
voloping the Fun IN Sun Festival, now recognized as one of
the outstanding City festivals held in the State of Florida,
which he served as General Chairman during its first year of
festivities in 1953 and again in 1954 as Parade Chairman of
the run IN Sun Festival parades from .955-1960, inclusive,
and as a permanent member of the Fun IN Sun Festival Executive
Committee; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to recognize the outstanding
public service and unselfish contribution of his time and
energy to the growth and development of the run 'IT Sun Festi-
val and the City of Clearwater by authorizing the award to
him of the City of Clearwater medal;
1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida officially
recognizes and expresses its appreciation to Cleveland Insco,
Jr. for his outstanding public service to the City of Clear-
watpr as the founder of the City's annual Fun IN Sun Festival,
and for his efforts in connection with the Festival activities,
which each year has brought pleasure and entertainment, and
provided invaluable publicity for the City of Clearwater, its
citizens and visitors.
2. That the City of Clearwater medal is hereby awarded
to Cleveland Insco, Jr, for his services as aforesaid, and
same shall be presented to him publicly a•' the earliest oppor-
tunity.
3. That a duplicate original of this Resolution shall
be delivered to said Cleveland Insco, Jr.
