WHEREAS, the Florida State Road Department Is to
construct a new bridge at the East and West endsof
Memorial Causeway across Clearwater harbor, and intends
to abandon the bridge structurespresently located at the
East and West ends of said Memorial Causeway upon the
completion of said new bridges; and
WHEREAS the Department of the United States Army
requires the governing body of the municipality wherein
such structures are located to accept title to and be
responsible for the maintenance of any such abandoned
bridge structures; and
WHEREAS the City Commission of the City of Clear-
water, Florida is familiar with the details of such
project, and is agreeable to accepting title to the
bridge structures located at the East and West end of
Memorial Causeway in Clearwater, Florida, and to be
responsible for the maintenance thereof upon the com-
pletion of the new bridges at the East and West end of
said Memorial Causeway by the Florida State Road De-
partment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEAR-
WATER FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND
REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida, upon
completion of the new bridges at the Fast and West end
of Memorial Causeway in the City of Clearwater by the
Florida State Road Department, hereby accepts title
to the presently existing bridges on the East and West
end of said Memorial Causeway; and does further accept
the responsibility for all. future maintenance of said
bridges after the date of completion of the new bridges
by the Florida State Road Department.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be
sent the District Engineer, U. S. Army Engineers Dis-
trict, Jacksonville, Florida, Corps of Engineers,
P. 0. Box 4970, Jacksonville 1, Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of March, A.D.,
1960.
