RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER
t;°s WHEREAS, Little Pass is the principal outlet for the
maritime traffic of Clearwater and Clearwater Beach, and has for
a number of years been an important part of the planning of the
City of Clearwater for improvement, and
WHEREAS, the improvement of Little Pass is now pending

with the Congressional Rivers and Harbors Committao, subject to
approval by the Governor of Florida and the appropriation of
Congress to finance the same, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for any development
of a bridge and causeway between Clearwater Beach and Dan's Island

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has been seeking the
approval of the State Road Department for the inclusion of this

early attention by the State Road Department of Florida, and/or
any other agency of the State of Florida that is authorized to do so.

2. That the City of Clearwater be permitted to coordinate
its affairs in regard to this matter closely with the State Road
Department of Florida or its authorized agency, and
3. That this matter be given primary attention as it
is one of the most Important projects. that the City of Clearwater
has had concerning its maritime Improvements designed to utilize
the City's million dollar marina presently situated on Clearwater
Beach, and
4- It is the urgent need of the residents of Clearwater,
particularly those of Clearwater Beach, that they be given egress
and access to and from Clearwater Beach over a second route in order
to safeguard the health and security of said residents and the public
generally in times of storm or disaster or temporary disturbance of
the existing bridge facility.
5. That this Commission offers to meet with the state
Road Department or its authorized agency at any time and any place
in order to expodito the matters referred to herein.
