R E S O L U T I O N
No. 59-70
WHEREAS Sections 21, 22 23 24 and 25(a) of
Chapter 15 of tie Code of the City of Clearwater set
forth certain duties to be performed by the City Clerk
concerning the issuance of beverage licenses as authorized
by said Chapter; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 561, Sections 15 through 19 of
the Florida Statutes of 1957 provide similar duties upon
the-State Beverage Department of the State of Florida
in issuing beverage licenses; and,
WHF,REAS, such similar and duplicate duties im-
posed;upon 'A?o-th the City Clerk and the State Beverage De-
partment are'unnl-acessary and duplicitous;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGU-
LARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS;
1. That the City Clerk of the City of Clearwater,
Florida is hereafter authorized to accept any license or
permit issued by the State of Florida to an applicant for
beverage licenses as prima facie evidence of the good moral
character of such applicant and the applicant's full compliance
with all requirements and qualifications in sed on said ap-
plicant by Sections 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25(a) of Chapter 15
of the Code of the City of Clearwater and the Clerk is re-
lieved from making any additional investigation unless speci-
fically instructed to do so by the City Cosunission on any
application pending.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 13th day of July, 1959.
