WHEREAS, the City Commission of Clearwater, Florida and the
Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida have been
advised that there exists a possibility that a pending contract with
the Cone Brothers Contracting Company for the construction of Myrtle
Avenue in Clearwater might possibly be canceled, at a great loss to
the City and County; and,
WHEREAS, this facility is of paramount importance and benefit
to the City of Clearwater, together with the related citizenry of this
County and the visiting traveling public; and,
WHEREAS, certain health features of the City of Clearwater are
involved, namely, adequate drainage, for which the City is contributing
its own funds;
NOVI, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED,
AS FOLLOWS
1, That the City of Clearwater, joined with the Board of
County Commissioners for Pinellas County, Florida, does hereby request
the State Road Department of Florida to award the certain contract with
Cone Brothers Contracting Company for the extension of Myrtle Avenue
and drainage forthwith in order that this improvement not be delayed
or Jeopardized by the readvertising which would otherwise be required
if immediate action is not taken by said State Road Department.
