r• Y: WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of
Clearwater, Florida, together with a majority of the
?'• other constituent members of the Suncoast League of
--'' Municipalities, has heretofore approved and recommend-
ed the refinancing of the Sunshine Skyway as proposed
by the State Road Department and the Florida Develop-
ment Commission; and
? ? M1 47HEREAS, appropriate City officials had been

ing in connection therewith, which was scheduled to, be

held in Tallahassee on July 1, 1958, for the purpose
= of supporting such refinancing plan; and,
- WHEREAS, while the efforts of the Honorable Le-
Roy Collins, Governor of the State of Florida, to bring

with this plan are appreciated, it is the opinion of
z? this Commission that such refinancing plan is to the
best • interest of the entire T

portion of its citizens should be allowed to dictate
a policy in connection therewith, and that any quest-
ions in connection with the legality of such refinan-

WHEREAS, this Commission is still of the opin-
ion that the proposed Sunshine Skyway Refinancing Plan "
is economically sound and to the best interest of the
peomle of Florida and citizens of Clearwater,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,-FLORIDA, IN SESSION
DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS;
1. That this Commission reaffirms its approval
and endorsement of the Sunshine Skyway Refinancing Plan
as proposed by the State Road Department and the Develop-
ment Commission of the State of Florida.
2. That the Governor of the State of Florida
is requested, if in his judgment the same is required,
to reschedule a public hearing in connection with this
Plan.
3. That the Governor of the State of Florida,
the State Road Department, the Florida Development Com-
mission, and all other appropriate officers are re-
quested to take the necessary action to proceed with
the Sunshine Skyway Refinancing Plan to include the
validation of the new obligAtions, at which time the
appropriate Courts can pass upon the legality of such
Plan.
4, That certified copies of this Resolution
be furnished Honorable LeRoy Collins, Governor, Chair-
man of the State Road Department, Chairman of the State
Development Commission, and Honorable Albert L. Rogero,
Member of the State Road Department.
