IMEREASO Houston Texas Gas and Oil Corporation has
filed an application before the Foderal Power Commission in
Docket No. G-9262 for a certificate of public convenience and
necessity authorizing the construction and operation of a
natural gas transmission pipeline system for the transporta-
tion of natural gas and the sale and delivery thereof in the'

State of Florida, and
MEREAS, the City of Clearwater Florida, is located

on the route of the proposed pipeline of Houston Texas Gas and
2 Oil t;orporation and is proposed to be served from its faciliti'
es
and
IMEREAS, the City has retained the engineering firm of
Reynolds, Smith and Hills. of Jacksonville, Florida, to ritake an.
engineering and economic feasibility survey of a proposed local
gas distribution system to be used for the receipt, distribution
and sale of natural gas by the City to customers in the City and
its environs, and
WHEIZEAS
said engineering and economic feasibility report
has been completed and submitted to the City Commission of the
City, and said report indicates that the distribution facilities
necessary to make natural gas available to the consuming public
in the City and its environs can be constructed, operated and
maintained by the City in a manner which is economically feasible

MiEREAS
the City of Clearwater is desirous of giving its
full support to the proposed project of Houston Texas Gas and Oil
Corporation to the end that natural gas may be introduced and made
available as soon as possible to th e consuming public in the area
to be served by the aforesaid local distribution facilities.
NOWX THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED by the City Commission
