WHEREAS, on June 27, 1949, the Cit. of Clearwater, Florida
passed a reaolution outlining its proposed action in connection with
utility tax money being held in the city treasurer, and
ffMREAS, in said resolution and Exhibit- 1 attached thereto an
authorization was provided whereby utility taxpayers were allowed to .

WIEMAS, at the time of the adoption of said resolution it was
the understanding of the City Commission that the amounts required to
construct a swimming pool for Clearwater negroes had been substantially
collected, and
YYHEREAS, it now appears that additional money is required for
the conatruatio.n of said pool and that Interested citizens have requested
that said authorization be changed to allow the utility taxpayers to
donate their money for either the construction of a municipally owned
pier on Clearwater Beach or for the cost of obtaining a swimming pool
for Clearwater,negroee, and
TORREAS, after having been informed of the additional facts as
set out in this resolution it is thought that said authorization should
be so amended.
I1OW, TIIF.HEFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Commission of the City
of Clearwater, Florlda, in session duly and legally held:

hereby-amended to allow utility taxpayers to donate said utility tax Pay-
Monte to the City of Clearwater for use either for the purpose of con-
