AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE; AMENDING SECTION
134.015, CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO DELETE THE SIGN VARIANCE
APPLICATION DEADLINE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Subsection (f) of Section 134.015, Code of Ordinances, is
amended to read:
Sec. 134.015. Nonconforming signs.
(f) Any person aggrieved by the provisions of this section may apply to
the city commission for a variance in accordance with section 131.012: Apry
In addition to the standards
which govern variances contained in section 137.012, the city commission board
shall consider the propriety of the application of this section based upon the
following factors:
The city commission may grant a variance only after a public hearing and upon a
demonstration by the owner/lessor of a hardship different in kind and magnitude
from that suffered by other sign owners or lessors similarly situated.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
