AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO THE STANDARD HOUSING CODE; AMENDING SECTIONS
143.01 AND 143.015, CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO ADOPT THE
1991 STANDARD HOUSING CODE AND TO CORRECT CROSS-
REFERENCES; PROVIDING THAT THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 308
OF THE STANDARD HOUSING CODE SHALL APPLY TO HOTELS,
MOTELS, DORMITORIES, AND LODGING HOUSES, AS WELL AS TO
ROOMING HOUSES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Sections 143.01 and 143.015, City Code, are amended to read:
Sec. 143.01. Standard House Code--Adopted.
There is hereby adopted by the city that certain code known as the 1991
Standard Housing Code, being partieularly the 1979 edition w4th 4980 a! veyis4ens

incorporated by reference as fully as if set forth at length herein. A copy of

Sec. 143.015. Same--Amendments.
Section 308 of the 1991 Housing Code is amended b adding Subsection 308.8
to read:
308.8. Definition.
As used in this section "rooming house" shall mean and include an rooming
house, hotel, motel, dormitory, or lodging houses The provisions of Subsections
308.1 through and including 308.7_ of this Code shall apply to ever rooming
house hotel motel dormitory, and lodging house except that a rooming house
license shall not be re uired for a dormitory unless re uired b Florida law.
