5143-91 f / 1 ORDINANCE NO. 5143.91 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, RELATING TO FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION; AMENDING SECTION 41.14, CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO DELETE THE REQUIREMENT FOR SURETY BONDS FOR THE FINANCE DIRECTOR AND DEPUTY FINANCE DIRECTOR; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the requirement for surety bonds for the finance director and deputy finance director in Section 41.14, Code of Ordinances, is redundant in view of the provisions of Section 20.02, Code of Ordinances, which provides for official bonds for officers and employees of the City as required by the City Commission or City Manager; and WHEREAS, compliance with Section 41.34, Code of Ordinances, by purchasing surety bonds is an unnecessary expense because insurance against the dishonesty of all employees of the City is available at less cost and has been purchased by the City; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 41.14, Code of Ordinances, is amended to read: Sec. 41.14. Deputy finance director.
