NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT"; PROVIDING FOR ,
REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH
CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE
PROVISIONS HEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE -
DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, on September 15, 1977, passed
an ordinance ("Ordinance No. 170311) authorizing the issuance of not exceeding
$3, 815, 000 Utilities Tax Bonds, Series 1977, of the City of Clearwater,
Florida (the 111977 Bonds"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1703 the final maturity of the
1977 Bonds was designated "not later than 1995"; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the beat interest of the City to issue bonds
bearing later maturities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The first paragraph of Section 7 of Ordinance No, 1703
shall be amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 7. DESCRIPTION OF 1977 BONDS. The 1977
Bonds shall be dated as of June 1, 1977; shall be numbered
consecutively from one upward within each installment; shall
be in the denomination of $5, 000 each or integral multiples
thereof; shall bear interest at such rate or rates as are fixed
by subsequent resolution of the Issuer, but not exceeding the
maximum rate fixed by the Act, such interest to be payable
semi-annually on June 1 and December 1 of each year; and
shall mature annually or semi-annually on such daises and in such
years (but not later than 2005) as are fixed by subsequent

Section 2. All other sections and provisions of Ordinance No. 1703
not herein expressly amended, shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance is adopted as an emergency ordinance
pursuant to Section 166.041, Florida Statutes and Clearwater City Charter.
Section 5. It is hereby found, determined and declared that this
ordinance is necessary and urgently needed for the preservation of the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of the City of Clearwater;
that an emergency is hereby declared; and that this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage. This ordinance shall
automatically expire ninety (90) days from the date of its passage unless
the ordinance is submitted during such time for consideration as a non-
emergency ordinance. }

WHEREAS, the City Commission, on September 15, 1977, passed

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
