WHEREAS, the City Commission, on September 15, 1977, passed an ordinance ("Ordinance No. 170311) authorizing the issuance of not exceeding $3, 815, 000 Utilities Tax Bonds, Series 1977, of the City of Clearwater, Florida (the 111977 Bonds"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1703 the final maturity of the 1977 Bonds was designated "not later than 1995"; and WHEREAS, it would be in the beat interest of the City to issue bonds bearing later maturities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. The first paragraph of Section 7 of Ordinance No, 1703 shall be amended to read as follows: "SECTION 7. DESCRIPTION OF 1977 BONDS. All other sections and provisions of Ordinance No. 1703 not herein expressly amended, shall remain in full force and effect. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 4. This ordinance is adopted as an emergency ordinance pursuant to Section 166.041, Florida Statutes and Clearwater City Charter. Section 5. It is hereby found, determined and declared that this ordinance is necessary and urgently needed for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of the City of Clearwater; that an emergency is hereby declared; and that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
