OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, 1962, TO
PROVIDE A SCHEDULE OF TOLLS FOR THE USE OF
CLEARWATE;R PASS BRIDGE AND PROVIDE •A RESTRICTION
ON REVISION OF SUCH TOLLS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL
OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN W Y '•' ''' '''
CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT;
PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS
HEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF F
THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE ?e
OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT.
WHEREAS, the use of the Clearwater Pass Bridge is controlled by
a toll booth; and
WHEREAS, the construction, improvement and operation of the
Clearwater Pass Bridge is financed from the collection of tolls for ito use;
and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1701 which refunded the Clearwater Pass ,
Bridge Bonds makes reference to a companion ordinance which seta the

rates for the use of Clearwater Pass Bridge; and '

WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide a code section within the ?

codified ordinances setting forth the applicable tolls separate and apart

from any bond ordinance, r.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT-ORDAINED BY THE.CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA;
Section 1. That Article II, Operation of Vehicles, of Chapter 22,
Traffic, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962,
is hereby amended by enacting a new Section 22-81 to read as follows;
Section 22..81. Clearwater Pass Bridge Toll Schedule.
The following rates are hereby adopted for the use of Clearwater
Pass Bridge;
Vehicle Toll Class Description Toll
Two'-Axle Vehicles ? $ , 25
Two-Axle Vehicles - Token System 10 for 1.00

Four-Axle Vehicles .60
Five-Axle Vehicles .75

The rate schedule established herein shall not be
revised except in the manner provided by Section I5E
of Ordinance No. 1701 of the City of Clearwater, Florida.
The City Manager or the Chief of Police of the City of
Clearwater, or their designee, are hereby authorized
to waive the tolls'established herein when in the exercise
of their discretion it is determined that such waiver is
necessary to complete any emergency evacuation of
Clearwater Beach or Sand Key.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, the same shall not
affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other
than the part declared to be invalid.
Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance; has
been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance

with Chapter 166. 041, Florida Statutes.
Section S. This ordinance shall become effective when the bonds

t provided for in Ordinance No. 1701 are sold and upon the escrow account
established in Ordinance No. 1701 being provided.
