AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA
REPEALING DIVISION 2 OF ARTICLE VII, CHAPTER XIII, OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, 1962, RELATING TO CHARITABLE SOLICITATIONS,
VESTING THE FULL POWER OF REGULATING AND LICENSING
' CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS TO PINELLAS COUNTY;
PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS
HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE PROPER NOTICE OF PROPOSED
ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE •'- , ;?

OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, on August 29, 1957, the City Commission of the City
of Clearwater, Florida, passed Ordinance #742, creating the Charritable
Solicitations Board whose purpose is the regulating and licensing of
charitable organizations; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 9742 was amended on October 16 1961, M1,.,
by Ordinance #907; and
WHEREAS, Pinellas County passed Ordinance ##71-05, which
became effective on October 1, 1971; and
WHEREAS, on August 7, 1972, the City Commission of the
City of Clearwater, Florida, passed Ordinance ##140Z, which deleted
the City of Clearwater from the provisions of Pinellas County Ordinance
##71-05; and

WHEREAS, Pinellas County subsequently, on October 31. 1972,
passed Ordinance ¢#72-12, relating to its Charitable Solicitations Board,
which Ordinance repealed former Ordinance ##71-05, and
WHEREAS, Pinellas County Ordinance ##72-12 fully regulates
charitable organizations throughout Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, both Boards serve primarily the same purpose and
it would be to the advantage of the City of Clearwater to dissolve its `t
Board, since Pinellas County has elected to take on the responsibility of I :r
licensing and regulating all charitable organizations within the legal
boundaries of Pinellas County. L k;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Solicitations, consisting of: Section 13-140; Section 13-140. 1; Section 13-141;
of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, relating to Charitable
Section 13-142; Section 13-143; Section 13-144; Section 13-145; Section 13-146;
Section 13-147; Section 13-148; Section 13-149; Section 13150; Section 13-151;
Section 13-152; Section 13-153; Section 13-154; Section 13-155; Section 13-156;
Section 13-157; Section 13-158; Section 13-159; is hereby repealed in its
entirety, and all future applications shall be filed with the Charitable Sollcl-
tations Board of Pinellas County, Florida.
