AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ELECTIONS, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
1962, TO CORRECT REFERENCES TO FLORIDA STATUTES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA.
Section 1. Section 8-18, Absentee voting, of Article I, In General,
of Chapter 8, Elections, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 9-18. Absentee voting.
The provisions of Florida Statutes, Sections 101. 62 to
101. 70, inclusive, and any amendments thereto, concerning
absent voters, are hereby adopted and made as much a part of .,?
this Code as if every word, clause, sentence and section of
said sections of Florida Statutes were set out herein. ? _ •;,.
Section 2. Subparagraph (d) of Section 8..58, Campaign literature
requirements, of Article III, Candidates, of Chapter 8, Elections, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 8.58. Campaign literature requirements.
(d) Political signs shall require permits from the City Building
Department and compliance with the provisions of Section
18.8 (C) (1) of the Code of the City of Clearwater. No
signs are permitted in City rights-of-way,

In addition to the disclosure requirements under F. S. 112, 3145,
the elected officials of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
persons seeking nomination or elected to office in the City of
Clearwater shall prepare and file with the City Clerk of the
City of Clearwater in affidavit form a disclosure statement
containing a listing without reference to amount of sources
of income, including trusts, of the parties named herein, each
person's spouse and minor children, if any; any interest held by
any of the individuals named herein in any business whether it
be a partnership, corporation, proprietorship or holding
company; all real property whether owned in whole or in part
in the State of Florida by the individuals named herein or their
spouse; and all liabilities, individually or jointly, of the
individuals named herein and their spouses in excess of $2, 000,
excluding therefrom a home mortgage, car or boat mortgage
and any retail charge accounts.
That in the event any individual of the City of Clearwater
designated herein fails to comply with this said Section
8-60, then such failure shall be deemed nonfeasance in
office.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 5. Any person, organization, society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof, who shall violate
the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction, to a
fine not exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), or im-
prisonment for not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and
imprisonment in the discretion of the Judge. It being specifically under-
stood that prosecution for the violation of any of the said provisions may
be commenced before, but not after, two years shall have elapsed from
the date of the violation.
Section 6. Should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of
this ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, the same shall
not effect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof

Section 3. Article III, Candidates, of Chapter 8, Elections, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new Section 8.60 to read as follows:

Section 70 Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has
been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance
with=Chapter 166.041, Florida Statutes.
Section 8, This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage.
