1962, TO INCREASE THE BASE CHARGES FOR ALL SEWER
CONNECTION AND TAP FEES; TO ESTABLISH A NEW
UNIFORM SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE
USE OF THE SEWERS; TO PROVIDE THAT SAID UNIFORM
SCHEDULE OF RATES SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION EVERY TWO YEARS HEREAFTER; PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY HEREWITH;
PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT
OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY
OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF; PROVIDING FOR PROPER
NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Sub-section (c) of Section 17-3, Connection--Application,
fee, of Chapter 17, Sewers, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 17-3. Connection--Application, fee.
(c) The department of public service shall furnish and install
necessary pipe, fittings and equipment to provide the
requested service in accordance with the provisions of the
City plumbing code, type and location of sanitary sewer mains
and sound engineering practice. Base charges for such sewer
taps and connection fees shall be as follows:
Residential: a ;
Single family and apartments t
(Cost per dwelling unit)-
1 bath $475.00

PLUS $75.00 for each additional bath. `
' Mobile home space 475.00 Hotel or Motel Facilities
(Cost per dwelling unit):
1 bath $475.00
PLUS $75. 00 for each additional bath.
Commercial area other than units, as provided in
this section for commercial structures.
Commercial:-'

Per toilet or urinal $475.00
*Excluding car washes, laundries and other commercial
enterprises making a more than normal demand on the
sewer system, all of which will be treated under the
industrial category.
Industrial:
Per toilet or urinal $475.00 PLUS
negotiated amount based on gallons and biological and
chemical demand on system.
The fees herein prescribed must be paid at the time a plumbing
permit is :issued by the Building Department. "

PLUS a charge of Z60 per 100 cu. ft. of water usedr
Hotels, motels and travel trailer parks shall be billed
at 17776 of the domestic monthly water charge, with
a minimum fixed charge of $4.50.
(b) Non-residential (Including commercial, office buildings
and industrial buildings):
The basic charge for all accounts shall be equal
to 177% of the monthly water bill in effect for that
size meter. However, the minimum fixed charge for
non-residential accounts shall be $4. 50.
(c) Service outside of the municipal limits:
Accounts outside of the corporate limits of the
City of Clearwater shall be subject to a surcharge
equal to fifty per cent (507o) of the monthly sewer
bill charges as set forth in subparagraphs (a) and
(b) above.
(d) The above schedule of rates shall be reviewed by the City
Commission at least every two years beginning with the
effective date thereof, September 1, 1975, to determine
that the rates applied are equitable and furnished at the
lowest cost possible to the customer.
(e) The sewer service charges herein provided shall not
apply to sprinkler or irrigation systems separately metered.
Section 3. Any person, organization, society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof, who shall violate the
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction, to a fine not
exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), or imprisonment for.
not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the Judge.

Sertion 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances In conflict -herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 5. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
Section 6. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has
L been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance
with Chapter 166. 041, Florida Statutes.
Section 7. This ordinance shall become effective on September 1,
1975.
