FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 7-88, PLUMBING
CODE--AMENDMENTS, OF ARTICLE VI, PLUMBING,
OF CHAPTER 7, BUILDINGS, OF THE CODE OF ORDI.
NANCES OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
1962, TO ESTABLISH A NEW SCHEDULE OF PLUMBING
PERMIT FEES; TO ESTABLISH A NEW SCHEDULE OF
FEES FOR APPLICATION FOR EXAMINATION FOR A
JOURNEYMAN'S CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AND
FOR A MASTER PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE OF COM-
PETENCY AND FOR THE RENEWAL OF SUCH CERTIFI-
CATES; PROVIDING THAT ALL FEES COLLECTED SHALL
BE PAID INTO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING
FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF;
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE
TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR PROPER
NOTICE OF PROPOSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Subsection (D) of Section 7-88, Plumbing Cade--Amend-
ments, of Article VI, Plumbing, of Chapter 7, Buildings, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to
read as follows-
(D)Section 106.3 (a), Schedule of Permit Fees, is hereby repealed,
and the following enacted in lieu thereof:
(a) Fees. The Plumbing Inspector shall charge and collect
for plumbing permits at the following rates, to wit:
1. $5. 00 for each plumbing installation permit issued for -
each building and $2. 00 for each fixture and water service.
$5. 00 for each lawn sprinkler system, irrigation system
installation permit issued for each building. Septic tanks,
floor drains, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and water
heaters and replacement of same shall be charged for at
the same rate as plumbing fixtures. Building sewer permit
shall be $5. 00 for the first 100 feet and each additional. 100
feet or portion thereof.
2. For the purpose of this code the words "roughed in for"
shall mean any opening placed in a plumbing system for
the purpose of receiving the discharge from a plumbing
fixture.
3. No fee shall be charged in case of removal of stoppage,
repair of leaks, repairs or replacing broken fixtures, but
the Plumbing Inspector must be notified and all jobs inspected
and approval secured wherever any soil, waste, vent or
sewer is changed for any purpose whatsoever.

4. A fee of $5.00 shall be charged by the Plumbing Inspector
for each re'-inspection made due to the work being condemned
or not being ready at the time specified in the application
for inspection,
5. Plumbing Inspection shall be made within a reasonable
time after the Inspector Is notified that the job is ready
for inspection.
6. All fees collected shall be paid into the General Fund of
the City of Clearwater.
Section 2. Sub-paragraphs 2 and 8 of Paragraph (b) of Sub-section
(E) of Section 7-'88, Plumbing Code--Amendments, of Article V1, Plumbing,
of Chapter 7, Buildings, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 1962, are hereby amended to read as follows:
(b)Section 109.2. Qualification of Plumbers.
2. Requirements of Applicants for Journeyman and
Master Plumber's Examination. Application for examin-
ation for a Journeyman's Certificate of Competency, or
for examination for a Master Plumber's Certificate of
Competency, shall be made with proper application blank
which shall be furnished by the City Plumbing Examining
Board. The application for examination shall be made to
the City Plumbing Examining Board at the City Plumbing
Inspector's Office, and must be accompanied with the
fee of $25. 00 for each Journeyman Plumber's examination
and $75. 00 for each Master Plumber's examination.
8. Certification--Renewal Fees.
a. The fee for renewal of a master plumber's certificate
shall be no fee.
b. The fee for renewal of a journeyman or maintenance
plumber's certificate shall be $5. 00.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 4. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
Section 5. Any person, organization, society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof who shall violate any
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction in the Municipal Court, be

In the City Jail for not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and
imprisonment, in the discretion of the Municipal Judge. Any violation of the :N
provisions of this ordinance may also be grounds for the City of Clearwater
to suspend or revoke the offending party's contractor's or sub-contractor's
license issued by the City of Clearwater.
