AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTIONS 7-38, 7-47 AND
7-49 OF DIVISION 1, CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY,
OF ARTICLE III, ELECTRICITY, OF CHAPTER 7,
BUILDINGS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, 1962, TO ESTABLISH
A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR EXAMINATION OF
MASTER ELECTRICIANS AND JOURNEYMAN OR MAIN-
TENANCE ELECTRICIANS, FOR A TEMPORARY
CERTIFICATE FOR JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIANS, AND
FOR RENEWAL OF A MASTER ELECTRICIAN, JOURNEY-

INSPECTION AND PERMITS AND FOR RE-INSPECTION;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARA-
BILITY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF; PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OF
THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTICE OF
PROPOSED ENACTMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 7-38, Examination--Fees, of Division 1, Certificate
of Competency, of Article 111, Electricity, of Chapter 7, Buildings, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 7-38. Examination--Fees.
(a) The fee for examination, of a master electrician shall
be Fifty Dollars ($50. 00), payable upon filing application.
(b) The fee for examination of a journeyman or maintenance
electrician shall be Fifteen Dollars ($15. 00), payable
upon filing application.
(c) The regular fee will be required for re-examination after
the second examination.

Section 2. Section 7-47, Certification— Temporary Certificates, i
Fee, of Division 1, Certificate of Competency, of Article III, Electricity,
of Chapter 7, Buildings, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 7-47. Certification--Temporary certificates, fee.
When and if, in the discretion of the Board of Electrical
Examiners, it becomes advisable, temporary journeyman
electricians' certificates may be issued by said Board to
electrical workers for a period of ninety (90) consecutive
days, provided such period does not extend beyond any
regular examination date. The fee for a temporary certificate
shall be Five Dollars ($5. 00), No temporary certificate
shall be issued to an applicant for a master electrician's
certificate.
Section 3. Section 7-49, Certification--Renewal Fees, of Division 1,
Certificate of Competency, of Article III, Electricity, of Chapter 7, Buildings,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 7-49. Certification.--Renewal Fees.
(a) The fee for renewal of a master electrician's
certificate shall be Ten Dollars ($10. 00).
(b) The fee for renewal of a journeyman or maintenance
electrician's ce3-tificate shall be Five Dollars ($5. 00).
(c) The registration fee of electrical helper shall be
Two Dollars ($2. 00).
Section 4. Section 7-64, Inspection and Permits--Initial Fees, of
Division 2, Electrical Code, of Article III, Electricity, of Chapter 7, Buildings,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 7-64. Inspection and Permits--Initial Fees.
The following permit fees are hereby established:
(1) Temporary Construction Pole $10.00
(2) For Minimum Electrical Permit 10.00
(3) For outlets (receptacles--switch fixtures) at
which current is controlled or consumed--
each outlet: .25
(4) For each service installation:
' (a) To 100 Amp. 3.00
(b) 101 Amp. to 400 Amp. 4.00
(c) 401 Amp, to 800 Amp. 6.00

Section 5_ Section 7-65, Inspection and Permits--Re-Inspection Fees,
of Division z, Electrical Code, of Article III, Electricity, of Chapter 7,
Buildings, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 7-65. Inspection and Permits--Re-inspection fees.
When extra inspection trips are necessary, due to any one
of the following reasons, a charge of Five Dollars ($5. 00)
shall be made for each trip;
(1) Wrong address.
(2) Second call on condemned work.
(3) Additional work done after inspection has been made.
(4) Work not ready for inspection when called.
Section 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 7. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.

Section $, Any person, organization, society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof who shall violate any
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction in the Municipal Court, be
fined not exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), or imprisoned
in the City Jail for not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and
imprisonment, in the discretion of the Municipal Judge. Any violation of the
provisions of this ordinance may also be grounds for the City of Clearwater
to suspend or revoke the offending party's contractor's or subcontractor's
license issued by the City of Clearwater.
Section 9. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has
been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance
with Chapter 166. 041, Florida Statutes.
Section 10. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage.
