REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH ?

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Chapter 13, Licenses and Regulations, Section 13-I6,
Schedule of Fees, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to delete the following categories:
(25) Astrologer
(60) Character Reader
(63) Clairvoyant
(79) Divine Healer
(88)- Fortuneteller
(121) Mental. Healer
(132) Palmist
(138) Phrenologists
Section 2. Chapter 14, Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida., 1962, is
hereby amended to enact the following new Section 14-36A to read as follows:
Section 14-36A. Fortunetellers, Phrenologists, Palmists, Etc.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of
fortuneteller, phrenologist, palmist, astrologer, character
reader, clairvoyant, divine healer or mental healer for hire
in the City of Clearwater.

Section 3. Any person, organization, society, association or
' i
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof, who shall violate the
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction in the Municipal
Court, to a fine not exceeding the surn of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00),
or imprisonment in the City Jail for not exceeding sixty (60)' days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Municipal Judge.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 5. Should any part or provision, of this ordinance be declared
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage.
