AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 6-7, CARELESS OPERATION OF BOATS,
OF CHAPTER 6, PERTAINING TO BOATS, DOCKS AND
WATERWAYS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, 1962, TO ALSO PROHIBIT THE

VIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY
THEREWITH: PROVIDING FOR THE SEPARABILITY OF
THE PROVISIONS THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR -.THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 6-7 of Chapter 6, Pertaining to Boats, Docks
and Waterways, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, Florida,
1962, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 6-7. Careless operation of surfboards, boats, vessels
and other crafts.
No person shall operate any surfboard, boat, vessel, barge
or other craft, whether mechanized or not, in the waters
within the city in a reckless or negligent manner so as to
endanger the life, limb or property of any person.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
Section 3. Any person, organization, society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof who shall violate any
provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction in the Municipal
,
Court, to a fine not exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00),
or imprisonment in the City Sail for not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Municipal Judge.
Section 4. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
