Section 7-38, Examination--Fees, of Division I— certificate of competency, of Article III pertaining to Electricity, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 7-•38. Examination- -Fees, (a) The fee for examination of a master electrician shall be twenty-five dollars, payable upon filing application. (b) The fee for examination of a journeyman or maintenance electrician shall be five dollars, payable upon filing application. (c) The regular fee will be required for re-examination after the second examination. Section 2. Section 7-47, Certification--Temporary certificates, fee, of Division 1--certificate of competency, of Article III pertaining to Electricity, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 7-47. Certification--Temporary certificates, fee. When and if, in the discretion of the board of electrical examiners, it becomes advisable, temporary journeyman electricians' certificates may be issued by said board to electrical workers for a period of ninety consecutive days, provided such period does not extend beyond any regular examination date. The fee for a temporary certificate shall be two dollars. No temporary certificate shall be issued to an applicant for a master electrician's certificate. -l- QRI)JL060 ;a Y ak1.' .k.?. Section 7-68, Special Regulations, of Division 2-- Electrical Code, of Articlo III pertaining to Electricity, of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby repealed in its entirety and the following is enacted in lieu thereof: 1. In all areas 'of the City known as Fire Zone #1, all electrical installations shall be in an approved Electrical Metallic Raceway. The Electrical Examining Board shall. have the authority to grant exceptions in those special instances involving the extension or repair of old construction. 2. All service conductors shall be insulated and in an approved raceway from the weatherhead to the first overcurrent device. 3. There shall be a minimum of 100 amp service on all buildings, whether commercial or residential, unless approved by Electrical Examining Board. Each main disconnect shall be properly identified. 4. All exposed exterior service grounds shall be in an approved raceway as in accordance with N. E. C. 5. On all existing structures, load may be added by calculating the service size in accordance with the N. E. C. 6. All buildings having more than two residential occupancies shall be classified as commercial. All buildings not residential shall be wired in an approved raceway and classified commercial. 7. Where an isolated water system is used, a driven ground and water system, bonded together, shall be used. 8. Troughs or auxiliary gutters shall be so installed that fused and unfused wires or wiring from separate meters will not enter the same enclosure. 9. Temporary power poles shall be used for construction purposes only and shall not supply power for any permanent structure. 10. The Electrical Contractor shall clearly identify all circuits and feeders leaving any enclosure and shall stencil or provide a decal with his name and telephone number on the Main Switch or Panel before Final Inspection is given. 11. Electric conventional range circuits shall not be smaller than two 0 and one #8. Every kitchen shall have at least two appliance circuits supplying not more than two outlets each. 12. Circuits for residences shall be as follows: (a) #14 Wire - lights - 10 per circuit and fused at 15 amp. (b) 20 ampere wire - lights and receptacles - 13 per circuit, and fused at 20 amp. Wiring installed in walk-in coolers or refrigerators shall be ` r ? r; enclosed in either rigid conduit or E. M. T. or other methods as approved in each case. A sign circuit shall be installed in all store or public buildings (new or remodeled). This sign circuit must be installed in 3/4" conduit or E. M. T. , from a switch that can be locked in the "off" position. The sign conduit shall have an outlet not more than three feet from the front of the building and then extend to the exterior and terminate in a sign enclosure or approved weathertight box. 25. In store buildings, the minimum requirement for receptacle circuits on each side wall shall be a separate conduit extending from the Panel in 3/411 raceway to each side wall, connected to a separate circuit and terminating in at least ono receptacle. r 26. Sign transformers shall not be placed in unfinished attic spaces. "`_ Drain holes shall be reamed or otherwise trimmed to remove burrs or rims that would hold water in the enclosure. If mounted on the roof, the transformer enclosure shall be elevated at least two inches above the roof. Wood shall not be used to mount or elevate the transformer enclosure or raceway. All utility roams or garages must have at least one appliance outlet on its own individual circuit. 28. Bell or chime transformers shall be located in a readily accessible place (not in attic spaces). BELL TRANSFORMERS SHALL NOT BE LOCATED IN LINEN CLOSETS OR UNDER HOUSE. 29. Stairway lighting shall be controlled by 3 or 4 way switches located at„top and bottom of the stairway; except, in multiple dwellings or apartments or public buildings whore the stair lighting is controlled by or on special hall, corridor or house circuits. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 5. PENALTY. Any person, organization, society, association or corporation, or any agent or representative thereof who shall violate any provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction in the Municipal Court, to a fine not exceeding the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), or imprisonment in the City Jail for not exceeding sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Municipal Judge. Any violation of the provisions of this Ordinance may also be grounds for the City of Clearwater tog'suspend or revoke the offending party's contractor's or subcontractor's license issued by the City of Clearwater. Each day's continuance of any.violation of this Ordinance shall constitute a separate offense. Section 6. Should any part or provision of this ordinance be declared S, Y by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the part declared to be inta.lid. Section 7. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
