Section 1. That Section 6 (1) of Ordinance No, 909, also being Section
1
2-24 (A) (1) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962,

pertaining to the formula upon which the amount of monthly retirement income

payable to a police officer is based, is amended to read as follows:

"(1) The amount of monthly retirement income payable
to a police officer who retires on or after his normal
retirement date shall be based on a formula that takes
into account three major factors:
(a) Years of credited service from eligibility to normal
retirement date. r5
(b) Basic monthly salary.
(c) The amount of money assumed to be available annually
as determined by the board of trustees of the plan.
It will be necessary to evaluate the plan at least once each
five years to determine whether benefits should be revised
upward, downward, or remain level.
For the present, the formula evolved follows:
976 of monthly salary per year of credited service with
the Police Department, "
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are to.the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
