AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, ADOPTINGITHE
GAS CODE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, 1960"
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ORDINANCE 833 OF THE CkY
OF CLEARWATER INCLUDING THE GAS CODE OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, RORIDA 1959; PROVIDING FURTHER FOR THE
REGULATION, ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THE
LAWS OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER RELATING TO GAS; RE-
PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL PRO-
VISIONS OR PARTS OF PROVISIONS OTHERWISE CONTAINED
IN "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
195011 IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR SEP-
ARABILITY; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE, TOGETHER
WITH SAID GAS CODE, TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS
PASSAGE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
has caused ins ordinances of a general and permanent nature relating to

gas, to be compiled and revised and the same are embodied in a compila-
tion, addition and revision thereof, known as "The Gas Code of the City.
of Clearwater, Florida, 1960".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION -"
OF 'SHE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
rSection 1. That Section 1 through Section 9 of the Gas Code

' of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1960, being Pages 1 through 67, ,

inclusive, are ordained as "The Gas Code of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, 196011, and shall be cited as such. That from and after the
adoption of this Ordinance, all installations of gas, pipes, fixtures,
appliances and other equipment or appurtenances shall be installed only
in accordance with the standards and specifications as set forth in
"The Gas Code of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1960".
Section 20 That all provisions of "The Gas Code of the City
of Clearwater, Florida, 196011 shall be in force and effect on and after
June 20, 1960, and,.all ordinances of a general and permanent nature'

relating to Gas which are not contained in "The Gas Code of the City
? -- of Clearwater, Florida, 196011 in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
. _ from and after June 20, 1960. -Ordinance No? 829 of the City of Clear-
water is hereby repealed:
Section 3. That the repeal provided for in the preceding
Section of this Ordinance shall not affect any offense or act committed
or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right
established or accruing before June 20, 1960; nor shall such repeal
affect any ordinance or resolution promising or guaranteeing the payment
of money for the City or authorizing the issue of bonds of said City or
any evidence of said City's indebtedness or any contract or obligation
assumed by said City; nor shall the repeal affect the administrative
ordinances, license ordinances or resolutions of the City of Clearwater
not in conflict with the provisions of this Code; nor shall it affect
any right or franchise conferred by any ordinance or resolution of the
Commission on any person, firm or corporation; nor shall it affect the
Building Code, the Electrical Code nor the Plumbing Code; nor shall it
affect any prosecution, suit or other proceeding pending or any judgment
rendered on or prior to June 20, 1960.
Section_ A. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate
the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof in the
Municipal Court of the City of Clearwater, be punished by a fine not'
exceeding Two Hundred Dollars 0200.00} or by imprisonment in the City
Jail for a period not exceeding Ninety (90) days, or by both such fine
and imprisonment in the discretion of the Municipal Judge.
Section 5. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase,
clause or other part or provision of this Ordinance or "The Gas Code
of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1960" be declared by any court to
be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance or
"The Gas Code of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 19601' as a whole,
or any part thereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.

Sectiog_6. Three copies of "The Gas Code of the City of
Clearwater, Florida, 196011, having been kept on file not less than
ten (10) days prior to passage hereof in accordance with Florida
Statutes Chapter 165.191, shall be retained in the office of the
City Clerk and be made available to persons desiring to examine the
same. '
Section 7. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage:
