and easily transported-and stored, and it is desired to
adopt such procedure for use by the City of Clearwater
in all elections conducted by it:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section l.. Secs. 44 (c), (e), (f) and (g)
Chapter 7 of the lode of the City of Clearwater, Florida
1950 are amended io read as follows:.
11(c) Receptacle To Be Provided; Sealing.
"The City shall furnish and the City Clerk shall
supply sufficient containers for_,each. voting mach-
ine in each voting place, each container shall
have a slot large enough to receive the identifi-
cation slips, and shall be of such nature that it
can be securely sealed.
"Befdre the polls open, the election clerk in the
presence of all inspectors and the public, shall
open the container and ascertain that it is empty,
and while empty shall securely seal same and place
a seal across the lid and body of the container
leaving a slot open without breaking or removing
the seal; and the election clerk or'inspectors
shall sign their names upon the seal. Printed
forms of seals shall be furnished with each ton--
tainer,'containing a statement over the place for
the signature that the container was opened, emptied,
and sealed while empty before the polls were opened;
the signing of the certificate shall constitute the
election clerk's or inspector's certificate to the
factsa'f
"(e) Certification by official operating machine.
''Before any elector enters a voting machine he shall
deliver the identification slip, signed by such
elector, and certified to by the clerk or inspector,
as hereinafter provided, to the clerk or the inspector
operating the machine on which such elector expects
to vote and the clerk or inspector shall also sign
such slip as herein provided for, in the form here-
inafter provided, and such signature shall constitute
an oath, or affirmation, as to the matters and facts
set forth in the printed matter above his signature,
and thereupon the clerk or inspector so receiving
and signing such identification slip shall deposit
the same through the shot in the sealed container
hereinafter'provided for.
"(f) Signed deposited slips prima facie evidence
of voting.

"The identification slip, when signed by anyperson
as an elector and by the clerk or inspector compar-
ing his signature and by the clerk or inspector
admitting him to the voting machine-and deposited
in the container, herein provided for, shall be
prima facie evidence that the person whose name
appears therein as an elector was admitted to the
voting machine and that he then and there voted*
q g) Duty of election officials upon closing polls.
"It shall be the duty of the clerk and inspector-to
deposit all unused signature identification blanks
in the container provided for immediately on the
closing of the polls, and then seal the slot of such
container, with a seal signed by all the election
officials in that voting precinct and it shall be the
duty of the clerk forthwith to deliver the sealed con-
tainer, containing the official identification slips
to the clerk of the commission.+i

Section 20 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section . It is deemed to the advantage of the City,
that this ordinance take effect immediately and that the pro-
visions thereof be followed in the conduct of the municipal ,
election on December 17, 1957. To that end there is deemed
to be a necessity that this ordinance take effect immediately
upon its passage'
